FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How are the shrimp packaged?
    The shrimp are packed whole, live on ice. We bag them up with ice on top and bottom to keep them fresh for you to travel home with.
  • What kind of shrimp do you grow?
    The shrimp we grow are Pacific White Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). These are a saltwater variety of shrimp originally from the eastern Pacific Ocean.
  • How do I cook the shrimp?
    There are many ways to cook shrimp. You can boil, sauté, bake or even grill them. Whether you choose to cook them whole or just the tails is completely a personal preference. We recommend trying both and decide for yourself!
  • Are they saltwater or freshwater?
    The shrimp we grow here are saltwater shrimp. They are Pacific White shrimp, sometimes referred to as Whiteleg Shrimp.
  • How do I remove the heads?
    This is a super easy process. You just pinch the shrimp right behind the gill plate (where the body meets the tail portion) and pop the tail sideways off of the head.
  • Are the chickens you sell raised here at the farm?
    Yes. All of our chickens that are for sale are raised right here on the farm from egg to adulthood.
  • Do you process the chicken yourself?
    Yes. The chickens we provide are all processed here on the farm.
